Letting the aroma of warm apple cider float through your house doesn’t require hours over a hot stove—just a jug of store-bought cider and some fresh basil.
1 liter of your favorite spiced apple cider
1-2 packs of Square Roots basil
Cinnamon sticks, orange wedges, or apple slices for garnish
Yield: 4 cups (about 8 servings)
Warm apple cider in a saucepan over medium heat.
Add fresh basil to the pan and reduce heat to infuse. Simmer for 5-10 minutes without letting the cider boil.
Strain cider into mugs, or keep on the stovetop over low heat.
Serve warm with a stick of cinnamon, orange wedge, or apple slices.
Throw in fresh Square Roots mint for added herbiness.
Cool in the fridge, and serve chilled for a more refreshing take.
Spike with rum or whiskey for extra warmth.
